Land of Enchantment

Joseph Driving Home

We went to beautiful Valles Caldera to ski this morning. As we approached the canyon the temperature began to drop from 25 degrees (-4 c). We turned into the icy entrance of the preserve and it was 0 (-17 c). By the time we made it to the center of the crater our car thermometer read -9 degrees ( -23 c).

But the sky was clear and the sun was warm. There was no wind. So we skied up hill for an hour. We toured around the ranger cabins at the top of the hill and then whizzed back down to the car in less than half the time.

Joseph is always willing to drive. Here he is with Sandia Mountain in the background. Almost home. The holidays are over. It's back to work tomorrow.
