A slice of Lesley's life

Glamping!

The kids are crying out for. And glamping we will endeavour to give them, despite some of the grown-ups making such outrageous demands as having a shower under the same roof as which they are sleeping under.

Sort of the last day of the holidays as Carl is back at work tomorrow although me and the kids have until Wednesday. Will attempt a gentle acclimatising tomorrow by completing any holiday homework that may have been set, packing bags and remembering how to make a packed lunch.

Lovely day of spending the kids' Christmas money on toys we don't approve of (it's your money, so if you really want to...), followed by lunch and viewing of Gulliver's Travels. As ever, undiscerning kids rated it between 100 and 1,000,000 out of 10, whilst we were more a little more circumspect with ratings of around 7/7.5.

Home to a visit from friends who had shunned our New Year's invite been away for the hols to drink wine, do yet more tidying of the fridge, plan random holidays and stand around forlornly listening to The Archers.

A full and happy day, reflective of the holidays...one might say were they not so painfully aware of how delighted dear old Nige was with his Christmas and New Year only moments before meeting his maker (with apologies to the non-Archers world).
