A slice of Lesley's life

By Lesley

Well, what would you choose?

Last day of the hols for me and the kids today. They were great all day - tidying their rooms, writing thank you letters and doing the homework that we have steadfastly ignored for the last 2.5 weeks. After a lovely lunchtime visit to friends housebound by a poorly child I asked them what they would like as their very last end of the holidays treat. And this is pretty much what they chose...

Turn the sitting room into a cinema with all the lights off except for a disco light (don't know what cinemas they've been going to on the sly), order in pizza, have a double pick of the tin (sweets, not baked beans) and snuggle in front of a Christmas film in their sleeping bags.

I do like it when they ask for something easy to deliver. Rather than the regular requests to take them to the moon.

I've mainly spent the day trying to make the house feel slightly normal and with all the spare beds put away and the decorations down it very nearly does.

I have a feeling tomorrow morning will arrive like a horrible slap to the face so, with Carl out, I'm off for an early night watching one of the many Agatha Christie productions that seem to be on offer.
