Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The pond

Oh so many choices here on the island! Even with a small walk, not far, it was hard to decide - all the driftwood washed up on the beach from winter storms,(very artistic) more goldeneyes(both species - they do have yellow eyes!),or far off islands and clouds (never tire of the views) Decided on this sort of ambiguous image for the blooms in january - it's a water hawthorne in a small freshwater pond on our property. The brown color is from the runoff from the island full of cedar trees. The hawthorne bloom in the fall and winter when the water is high and cold and go dormant in summer with less and warmer water.(if you look, there are several little white blossoms) Years ago I tried putting some of my own ideas in this pond - but the herons, eagles and river otters think it is theirs.
