Steps from Bayards Cove, Dartmouth

If you are a fan of The Onedin Line (currently being repeated on some UK channel or other), then you may recognise these steps. They rise from Bayards Cove in Dartmouth. I was really torn whether to show the steps, or the view from the steps, looking across the chimney pots and the Dart towards Kingswear. Or the cobblestones on the quayside, with the date 1665 set into them. In the end, I thought the views of the mouth of the Dart, complete with swans on the water, would be better retaken on a sunny day. Today's being dull and grey, the old stone walls, steps and old-fashioned street lamp won for this, my 50th blip!

(Several series of the historical, nautical drama The Onedin Line were filmed largely in this part of Dartmouth and the surrounding coastline in the 1970s.)
