Baggie Trousers

No time to get outside today, as I have to go through this short story I penned before Christmas and endlessly re-draft. It's a laborious but necessary job, and isn't helped by my tendency to get frequently distracted from the task in hand. Blip sadly qualifies as such a distraction, as do any number of social networking sites. But Wikipedia is by far the worst. The average visit there begins as an innocent research mission, gets quickly sidetracked as you OPEN IN NEW TAB all the various topics that catch your eye (even the ones you already know about, just because you want to know what Wikipedia says about them) and before long you're fighting off sleep, your original reason for being on the site long forgotten, furiously reading about Heinrich Himmler's sock patterns, or the Mesopotamian Jelly Revolution of 1593.

Tonight I don't intend to let this happen. Work must be done, and I'll start doing it very soon. Very soon indeed. Right after I'm done learning about each of the Emperors of China, and the evolution of moths.

There's a few more archived blips up for those of you interested, including an early sunset and another memorable staff night out.
