The Birds Again

Walking Ozzy this morning, the seabirds (some form of gull I assume, not our old faithful herring gull as they are not that big) are back with a vengence, along with 10-20 seals. It looked like they were all still enjoying the whitebait which seem to have been here for weeks now.

Tried to photograph the seals as well, but couldn't get the timing.

Did however capture these birds escaping as a breaking wave came through. They were all sitting on the water a second before, & took off just in time to avoid a wipeout.

I was told that by lunch there were loads of photographers making the most of the opportunity - but by the time I got back mid afternoon with the big camera, the swell had gone as had the sun, & so it was nowhere near as interesting. Just shows that you do have to be in the right place at the right time, and that it is worth carrying the small camera in my pocket at all time.
