Ghost Train

Today I walked a couple of miles down the Tarka Trail & back, it was a glorious sunny day, but very few people were out & about! it is a disused railway line & is around 180 miles long passing through up to 15 towns & villages now a foot & cycle path. I used to cycle down it as a child, but now I much prefer walking as I see so much more! We were late coming back & the dusk was upon us, if you closed your eyes you could just imagine a steam train thundering up behind you!

It's now part of the Devon Biosphere Reserve, plus the Devon Wildlife Trust Ash Moor reserve on the Meeth side - the original pit they dug, but did not use, for the foot & mouth livestock victims.
