Ice and a walk home

This is the high point of a minor road between Wensleydale and Swaledale (499m) so far so good..... nice sunny day, a bit of hard parked ice on the road but not a problem. Then I started to descend into Swaledale and it was a different story. Serious amount of ice, car starting to slide, (the trusty Freelander hill descent not proving to be much help) and eventually too dangerous to go any further and couldn't turn round to go back either. Abandoned my car beside the road and walked home - here's to a big thaw tomorrow as otherwise my car could be there a while.
