Part of an occasional series of items I treasure, for one reason or another. Mainly running ephemera, I guess, and this one from the days when I lived in France.

This one is the tee shirt awarded in May 2004 after I had participated in the notoriously wacky French classic race, Les Gendarmes et les Voleurs de Temps - a 32 km trail race in Ambazac in Limousin that starts with a mad dash of thousands of runners across a very broad starting line, funneled into a very narrow track, led by mounted Napoleonic cavalry.

I completed the course in 3:10:00 and was awarded this shirt and a dinner plate imprinted with the same stylish pattern...
