Just a perfect day

Up and out for an early morning run before the sun got too hot.

Home for a hearty breakfast of croissants and home-made quince jelly.

Off to Akaroa with Rae.

We arrived in the hot hot sunshine. First stop, the council offices to find out where we were able to go (and not go) with the red boy.

No dogs on the beach, apart from the dog exercise area further along from the town.

All good.

We found a suitable cafe, ordered coffee and sat in the sun chatting and putting the world to right for a good couple of hours.

We then pootled down the road, at a holiday pace, to the dog exercise area. Cousteau and I spent a happy half hour playing our favourite game of stick throwing and fetching. He had to swim as my throwing seems to have improved of late!

Rae went for a wee swim herself, which was good.

I was not so brave.

Then back to the car, salty and tired and a little sun-kissed.

A couple of hours later, we arrived back home and had a yummy tea.

Then Rae, B and I headed out in the dark, with a pair of angel wings to have a go at plagiarising this shot from MLY.

Varying degrees of success and none that I liked better than this wee tot swinging from the tree and enjoying her ice cream in the beautiful Akaroa sunshine.

Needless to say, the angel shoot will be happening again. This time with more preparation and less weariness!

Byeeee.
