No Rest For The Buzzard

It must be hard being an urban buzzard. Not only are there lots of stupid people around, when you stop for a breather and a reassessment of yer plans, you get jumped by 2 pushy magpies. This pic was taken just as the 2 were about to mob the buzzard and see it off. Alas there are no photos of the moment when it did fly off.

This was just spotted out the window and wasn't something that I'd been waiting to see. It was quite something to see a bird as big as a buzzard in town let alone just across the street. It just got better as the two magpies arrived and then deliberately went about getting rid of the big guy as quickly as possible.

Today was another day of thoroughly enjoyable language learning. I thought it was going to be a good day when one of the first sentences i had to repeat was "Ich bin ein Mädchen" and it measured me as being 98% accurate... The sentence means "I'm a girl". I'm not and certainly not 98% of one.

Other useful sentences were "Ich gehe noch in die schule" (I still go to school) and "Ich bin unberufstätig" (I'm unemployed) and "Ich trage eine Schürze" (I'm wearing an apron).

So there we are, if anyone has a job for a scholastically inclined Mason, I'm your girl. Apparently.
