Blood on the moon

Sometimes I wish I had both a proper camera and the patience to lug the thing 
around with me everywhere so I can take photos of amazing things like this when
I see them. I know it doesn't look amazing in this picture but see the particuarly 
large orange light in amongst all the other orange lights? That is the moon, I just 
caught sight of it over the rooftops on my way home this evening. I wish I could
convey just how fantastic it looked!

This is known as "blood on the moon" and in the olden days it was thought to 
foretell a death. But I can't find any reference to this or remember how I know it!
