A grand day out!

We had a lovely day out today with friends. We went to Skipton which is a lovely market town and renowned as being the 'Gateway to the Dales'.

It was mini adventure as we went on the bus and the train. Market day so lots of stalls, blue skies, nice shops - including an old fashioned outfitters where my husband was bought a Panama hat for his 60th birthday and trip to America (not till July so more of that later).
We had coffee sitting under outdoor heaters and then a lovely late lunch in a French brasserie.

We had to go to the 'Celebrated Pork Pie Establishment', which is the tiniest shop imaginable, because the pork pies are just what they say. You can see school boys eating them from the bag and people queuing to get in. I bought two for tomorrow's lunch!
We returned on the train as the skies turned a wonderful deep pink/red.

A grand day out - Gromit!
