Sweethearts.......

.......at 'Berryfields'.

I love berries: strawberries, raspberries, blue berries, boysenberries - they're all delicious!! I'll eat them in any form :)

This morning on this dull rainy morning Mum, Daughter A, Daughter E and myself set out to 'Sweethearts' for breakfast. The girls and Mum had not been before and it was lovely to hear the 'oohs' and sighs of delight when we walked through the doors.

We were greeted warmly and seated. This is not a place to visit if your in a hurry, it is a place to linger enjoy the atmosphere and savour the food. We sat in the conservatory outlooking the trees and berry vines listening to classical music. As you can see both daughters ordered the berry pancake stack while Mum and I went for the mushrooms - all nicely presented and tasted divine.

In 1978 Berryfields was born. The farm is prized for its rich soils, producing delicious sweet berries. In 1980's Berryfields were exporting Strawberries and Raspberries to the United States, Australia, Europe and the Middle East. The popularity of the small berry shop and its increasing requests by customers to enjoy a cup of tea while visiting the farm led to 'Sweethearts' being developed.
The name 'Sweethearts' was chosen after an early family photo of the owners Grandmother, father and uncle. The photo was taken by the owners Grandfather and had written on the back 'My three sweethearts'.

Today it is a popular wedding venue, specialises in Victorial High Teas and has a lovely breakfast, lunch, dessert and Morning and Afternoon tea menu.

It was a lovely start to our 'Girls Day Out' and a continuation for my birthday.
I recommend 'Sweethearts' at Berryfields to anyone living in the area or visiting :)

PS While this was being moderated many of you left Birthday Wishes and lovely comments for my Birthday yesterday, thank you so much - you are all very thoughtful :))
