"Great chieftain o' the puddin' race", boiling for Burns' birthday this week.

I'm proud to be Scottish. Scotland is a truly bonny place, with bonny people, and a rugged, colourful and inventive history.

But I trace my roots further back than Robert Burns or William Wallace. Back to a man called out of Ur, with descendants as many as the stars in the sky, or the grains of sand on the beach.

He has many sons. I am one of them and so are you. Things might be simpler if we remembered that.
