Sitting in my very own bird hide (studio with large window) I watched in glee at the amount of house sparrows around, not to mention 46, yes, that's 46 counted chaffinches in one go! These two male house sparrows were having a natter. Sorry about the light, it was terrible today, so dull!

Talking of counting 46 chaffinches in the garden, it's the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend - all you need to do is either on 29th or 30th Jan, is sit & watch your garden birds for an hour, jot down what they are & how many there are in the garden in that hour & then send them to the RSPB - simple as pie!
