A museum treasure and a lion cub

This is my colleague, chum and top notch photographer who I call Aunty Joyce. Today's mission for Aunty J was to photograph some of our taxidermy collections in the store, so I was assisting, lugging kit, holding reflectors and blipping at the same time. The lion cubs were the most photogenic of the bunch, although the sloth came a close second...

We've got some fab animals, some of which were collected around the nineteen hundreds, when the British Empire, and shooting and pillaging were all the rage. But we also have quite a lot of brand new taxidermy as well. Nowadays the animals come to us from various zoos and wildlife conservation organisations after they have expired naturally. At some point I'll try and take a blip in the taxidermy workshop as it's really cool, there's always partially constructed exhibits around and they even have a filing cabinet of glass eyeballs in all shapes and sizes...
