Tenements

A rather uninspiring shot today from a visit to Glasgow's Southside. Glasgow is full of blocks of flats called tenements. Most of these 'vertical villages' as they have sometimes beeen described were built around 1900 from sandstone quarried from no more than 40 miles from the city. There is a very talented Glasgow artist called Avril Paton whos work sometimes includes these tenements and I had her work in mind when shooting this. She pays a far greater compliment to these old buildings than Me though.
