Challenger ~ 25 Years

This is an official Challenger space shuttle uniform flight patch.  I purchased it 25 years ago, two weeks after the horrific explosion rocked the nation, at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

I keep the patch framed, under glass, in my office next to my computer.

On board that day in 1986 were astronauts Gregory Jarvis, Judy Resnik, Dick Scobee, Ronald McNair, Michael Smith, Ellison Onizuka and Christa McAuliffe, who was to be the first teacher in space.
