Nastia's Slow Little Days

Hudson on Ice, College in Glow

Afternoon drive in mostly smooth, post-snowstorm conditions. Yay. I love the west side of the Hudson over the Tappan Zee Br., as the signs call it. (I always start thinking about what should be the mythical Tappan Zebra!)

After we made it to SC from WP, we spent a lot of time trying to decide where to eat. But when we finally got downtown, and were about to go inside the restaurant, we checked out the State Theatre, where Howl was going to be playing a half-hour from our arrival. So we bought tickets, popcorn, Rollos, and a cranberry Minute Maid, after which we bantered for half an hour. We watched Howl then went to Allen Street for drinks and some snacks. The bartender kindly made me whatever fruitiest drink she could think of. It tasted like something between Starbursts and gummy bears. After Howl, the whole world looked really poetic--more so than usual, that is--which is why I decided to take the photo on the right. :)

The "One Way" street sign you could see from our seats at the Grill was graffitied to say "Goneaway"! Tehe. All in all great day.
