Baltimore

Ah, the life of a medical tourist - you get pictures from the train and from the hotel room. This is the view outside my window. The one on the left was taken with the "drawing" function on my camera. The one on the right was just an auto ISO with the flash turned off (the camera was on the windowsill). This building is the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

But I traveled here not for the business school, but to meet with the specialists at the Sjogren's Syndrome Center. I am feeling a little (more than a little) worn out from two full days of evaluations, but it has been a very worthwhile trip. To most doctors, the many facets of my illness go beyond their textbook knowledge, and they are uncomfortable handling my case. To meet doctors and support staff who not only understand what I have been through, but who can offer some valuable advice for keeping me less painful, has been priceless.

Tomorrow I am homeward bound. Hopefully the roads and rails will be clear of all the snow and ice by then. What a winter!
