Tay Ghillie

Oh dear.....

The rainfall and strong winds of yesterday have brought to an end the life of this fine old beech tree beside the River Almond. When I passed yesterday I noticed that the limbs had dropped slightly, but didn't think the end would have come so soon. Cycling to work this morning my path was blocked and you have today's blip. How old is this tree I wonder? I'm going to try to age it this week using this formula. I can only imagine but it's seen a few winter storms and sheltered a few critters in its time, that's for sure. It won't go to waste though. It's limbs will fuel fires for many years to come.
