Savor the Moment

By Melissawall

Waiting...

Waiting...
Waiting for the news that cancer has been removed. Incredible how yesterday my dad had cancer and today...

The nurse returned again a smile lighting up her beautiful face.
The news of half an hour ago...
"the lymph nodes are free. The cancer hasn't spread."
The report for this moment...
"The surgeon was able to remove all the cancer. Your dad is cancer free!"
Incredible... In the span of a few moments: worry and insecurity to elation and joy!

Half hour later...

She returned again. "You're dad is out of surgery"
We went to the small waiting room where dad's surgeon met with us. He is gregarious and to the point and his presence fills the room with peace and celebration.
"Your husband and dad is such a great guy!" the first words out of his mouth give insight into his personality.
"The surgery went perfectly.... He is cancer free... He is so healthy so no other complications...."
On and on we were flooded with good report. And now we celebrate and rejoice. We are the recipients of a miracle today!

Now we wait. Except this news is different... Wait to tell my dad the most incredible news: You are cancer free dad!
This waiting is different.
Anticipation to Celebrate!
