Shiny new strings
A friend Pete came round tonight with his new accoustic guitar. It was the impotus I needed to re-string mine. I've been meaning to do it for ages, and it was long overdue, but I'd been worried that I wouldn't make as neat a job as the factory fitted ones. In the end I didn't, but it wasn't too bad and the guitar sounded so much better for it.
The strings are still a bit zingy, but a couple of hours playing them and that excessive new string sound should mellow a bit. The funny thing is, although I like the sound of older strings, you never really notice exactly how dead they are sounding until you've put new ones on.
