i went online and ordered a book (from the library) about buying nothing for a year. but then nearly decided that i had to rush off to ikea for an office table and felt excited at the prospect of a few evening hours on my own in the comforting arms of out of town shopping. but resisted.

went to glw science centre with cb1's class - 33 9 year olds in a state of high excitement. undermined my pal's 'we don't have to buy something every time we go somewhere so i'm not giving you spending money' philosophy by buying something for her son. worst still, it's a paper model and is going to be a bit of a bugger to make. whoops.
