Lesser celandine

We've had alternating sunny/rainy days for the last week or so. But it's been quite mild and I was surprised to see these lesser celandines out already behind the office at lunchtime today. I'm not sure when they normally first appear but mid-February seems rather early considering the hard winter we've had.

They are quite pretty, although a troublesome weed in many gardens, including mine.
