Post-ex 11: Sorting retents

A long day, sorting retents.
Various people were out in the cold, putting bags of soil through sieves during the last few months...then they spent weeks sorting the stuff that didn't float up to the top of the water (the "flot") or pass through the sieve (the "mud") into various piles,....these were categories of "retent" ("That which is retained") like Glass, metal, slag, ceramic and bone.
I spent today separating the "bone" fraction into mammal- and bird-bone that I will catalogue, and fish-bone, that gets sent off to someone else.


Whatever, I got a very nice unexpected surprise (if that's not a tautology) in the post, today.
