Billy Liar Steps

A number of people asked me whether the steps in last Thursday's blip were the Billy Liar steps. They weren't, but the Billy Liar steps were only a few yards up the road, and also something that I regularly pass on the way to work.

Billy Liar is the quintessential Bradford film, with a number of the locations listed and illustrated here. Like me, Billy's journey to work involved him travelling from Baildon (37, Hinchcliffe Avenue) to Bradford - any similarity in our life stories ends there.

Billy Liar is one of many reasons why Bradford became UNESCO's first City of Film in 2009, and I may blip further film locations as this blog develops.
