A Sasanach's Skye photos

Skriaig

The base of the mast on the right is at the summit of Skriaig. The hilltop is at 396 metres above mean sea level. There are in fact three masts near to this point.

It was a long climb up the track that leads to these masts. The wind was strong and bitingly cold but the reward for our effort was some interesting views. These of course would have been spectacular on a warm, clear, sunny summers day.

I think we must have climbed up about 190 metres through a distance of about two miles and returned. It felt a lot more. Oh well that was our walk for today. The important thing for me is to raise my heart rate and breathing so that I am panting for a minimum of 30 mintutes every day. We were out for about an hour and a half.
