Sea Ranger gets a make-over

Frankly it is very early in the year to see the first fishing vessel getting its annual make-over. It has to be done during the spring tides to give the guys enough dry-out time to do the work.

They moor up on the high tide, then work through the day to pressure wash the hull and, when dry, coat with anti fouling paint. When I took the picture they had started painting at the stern since that was going to receive the rising tide first.

By the time it got dark, the tide was in and they hadn't quite finished so they'll be praying for a dry day tomorrow. Whether they will paint the superstructure at this time remains to be seen.
