I’m Richard Findlay and I’ve been a member of Blipfolio since 1st January 2010.
I was brought up in Aberdeenshire, went to University in Aberdeen where I later worked before moving to Glasgow, then Edinburgh where I currently reside with my partner Gerald. 
I trained as a lawyer and was in private practice for about 30 years mainly specialising in Entertainment Law. Like most people, career dominated my life, but now retired, I’ve more time for other pursuits. 

I have always been a keen photographer, initially a holiday or family/friends snapper, but some twelve years ago I took an Open University Course on Digital Photography and that helped sort out my technique a little. This opened the door to a few shooting opportunities - and over the years I’ve captured various music gigs, theatre shows, highland games & sporting events and the occasional wedding. 

I would describe myself as a photo enthusiast who shoots for pleasure. I have an interest in music, theatre and film, but photography is probably my main passion in life as it both creative and documentary. It’s deeply absorbing and rewarding - and also can be great fun.

So my intention here is to post a flavour of my journey from Aberdeenshire Loon to Edinburgher. 
Although I've been BlipFoto Member for over 10 years I've been engaged sporadically but I'm working on improving that and trying to post more regularly, fill in the gap months/years and  attempt to make the content less dull. 

I welcome constructive comments, stars, favs and followers etc and will endeavour to reciprocate - but a special plea to fellow blippers please add a location to your photos where possible (or appropriate) - it really makes a difference to enjoying your shots - context is everything.
