I've had a big change to my life this year (2020), like many people. Suddenly I have found myself in semi-retirement and heading fast to retirement.
At the start of lock down in March 2020 I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer, and then later warned that I was at risk of Type 2 diabetes. In the 3 months since that warning I have managed to lose 13kg and am heading towards a healthy weight again, all from walking within the boundaries of my home town of Luton.
Most of my blips are now taken while out walking around some of the parks in the town, and I aim to improve the image of the town that people have, I have said for some time that it does not live down to its reputation.
Temporarily though, I find myself almost housebound as I have had to have a catheter fitted to relieve pressure on my kidneys caused by the dodgy prostate and walking any distance gets uncomfortable.
I am a member of Shillington and District Camera Club and also a member of United Photographic Postfolios - a sort of postal camera club - great for getting feedback on your own pictures, and honing your analytical skills by giving feedback to others as well. You get a folio a month to comment on and add a new picture to, then post it on, each 'circle' has around 12 members so you can get some good feedback to help you improve, without it becoming too onerous a task.
As for kit - Ernst Haas said "The camera doesn't make a bit of difference. All of them can record what you are seeing. But, you have to SEE." You will have to look at my Blips to see what I use - it is the image that counts not the kit.
