Not long before I joined Blip I was skimming through a bundle of prints I'd just had made and was shocked to see how often I'd photographed the same subjects (trees and the sea, mostly). There were dozens of them. Hundreds, probably, over the years.
So I'm hoping that publishing an image a day will help me to see that there are plenty of other things in the world worth photographing.
Already I am finding out a lot of stuff I hadn't realised about my own taste and interests, such as a preference for colour, texture and form over content. It often results in something fairly abstract, but I'm quite happy about that.
I am also glad to have a focus for what used to feel like my aimless but compulsive snapping. You can find so much beauty in the world when you start really looking for it.
