Originally from Sunderland, England, I've lived in and around Tokyo for 8 years. I'm now working as a freelance scientific editor and transcriber.

Photography was my childhood hobby after being lucky enough to be taught how use a camera and how to develop and print film at school, but it was only a few years ago that I returned to it to capture my life in Japan.

In my photos I try show the less well known parts of Tokyo, and the day-to-day life of what it's like to live in and be part of the largest metropolitan area in the world.

I hope you enjoy these photos and ramblings from my life in Japan, and please leave a comment if you want to agree/disagree/tell me my photos are pants.

If you want to read a little about the photographers that inspire me, start here at this short series of blips.

There's also a little about me on the Guardian here (words and photos).

For some 70s style, funky colour photo jamming, you can follow me on Instagram under the username "wayoflife13". See you there!
