December 2021

I started this adventure back in April 2019 and I look back with fondness at some of my early photographs.  I have learned so much since I took on 'A Year With My Camera" and I now consciously have my phone or a camera with me at all times.  I've found lockdown quite stressful as, although I enjoy trees and taking photographs, I seem to have become bored and the photographs boring so my plan is to try to learn new techniques in the New Year and even if I can't get out then I can try to be more creative - there are enough books and magazines to help.  Plus I am going to spend time trying to learn Lightroom and Photoshop so I don't give up immediately I try to change a pic!  I particularly love reading about peoples lives and seeing their photographs and although I don't visit Blip on a daily basis I do try to do a catchup as often as possible.

2020 - Well its been more than a year since I started on this adventure.  Like many I suspect, I was bought a camera and I did nothing more than point and shoot - never bothering to learn about all the other buttons on the camera.  Now a year and a bit later I can do so much more.  I still find myself asking husband for help when I can’t think what to do to achieve the photograph I am chasing - but its less now.  He has even ‘loaned’ me some of his filters and lenses so I must be doing something good!  I have been retired for more than four years and whilst I miss my students - I still keep in touch with many of them via Facebook - I don’t miss the politics of working for a local council.  I have more than enough with six grandchildren - still managing to see four of them who stand at the bottom of the drive where I live but not being able to have contact with them is awful.  I decided that when I did my year of blipping I would not be pressured into doing something every day but still find myself thinking every day of something to add - so long may it continue. I live in South Staffordshire and am fortunate to have a lovely garden overlooking a very deserted field so everything is so peaceful at the minute.  I love looking at blipper’s photographs and reading their thoughts about what they have added, so again long may this continue.
