Storm Damage

Louis' new dog walker Dot came round again this morning as we'd arranged to go for a walk with Louis and Jess her Jack Russell. She took us out in her car so it will be familiar to Louis when she picks him up next week, and he was fine. He was excited to see her and was ok with Jess, so fingers crossed he gets on with the other dogs when they're all together.

After she dropped us back at home, I went to meet Chrissy and Kate for lunch at a seafood restaurant at Shoreham Beach, which was very nice, and then we went for a walk to look at the houseboats on the estuary. There are some very interesting boats, 'junk' and artefacts, which provide lots of blip opportunities.

I also stopped off in Hove to show Chrissy these beach huts that have been destroyed by the recent storms. These £14,000 luxuries are now reduced to nothing more than pieces of timber, some of which had literally been blown over the wall behind, falling into the lawns below, and their contents were strewn all over the place. Fortunately, they're not all destroyed but it's such a shame for those people affected. As I've blipped the beach huts before I thought I'd show you what's happened, and if you're interested, you can have a look at the photos of the Houseboats on flickr.

In other news we've just booked a week's holiday in September - we're going back to Riquewihr in the Alsace region of France, staying in the same complex as last time, but in a different apartment that has outside space. We've booked the apartment for 5 nights and will use the other time for travelling and stopping off at different places to break up the journey. It's something to look forward too :-)
