"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter... to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring - these are some of the rewards of the simple life." ~John Burroughs

"The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life." ~Robert Louis Stevenson

"Be content with what you have, rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you." ~Lao Tzu

Just a small town girl from Ohio living in the big city while I finish up my PhD - then it's off to see a new part of the USA.

Life has taught me:
to dream big but work hard;
that talk is cheap and action is meaningful, but keeping your word has enormous value;
to laugh each day, no matter the circumstances, for if you can laugh you can perservere;
that it's not as important to know the right answer as it is to ask the right question;
to see the beauty in simplicity and cherish it;
that the key to success is simply a matter of balance and commitment;
to enjoy the moment, wherever and with whomever it occurs;
that it costs nothing to be kind;
to understand that the great truths lie in paradox;
that the possibilities are endless but our lives are not, so we each much choose our life's work as the thing that gives meaning to time...
