For me photography is an art form. And I try to treat it as such. Though I very much respect other peoples relationship with the camera and the process.
When I add comments to Blippers posts I chose my words very carefully. There are certain words that I use to describe an image that mean more than other words. It's up to you to figure out the hierarchy of my meaning. I do not post just to flatter someone, what I post is the truth. And I always try to add a 'Thanks' to the end of my comment, for your images and contribution.
I have been heavy equipment operator sense I was 18. And was lucky enough to retire at 50, I'm now 66. I've led a pretty crazy life so far! I seem to be getting more settled as time passes. Thank God, every time I could have really gotten in over my head, I didn't. I'm still healthy, very happy, and hopefully getting a little wiser as the years march on.
Been riding motorcycles from the age of 14. I have accumulated about 450,000 miles on motorcycles. Been to all 49 United States, Mexico, and almost all of Canada, with the exceptions of the Territories, New Foundland and Labadour (that will be change in the future). Many of these places I've been back to many times over. I still ride a lot, 10,000 to 15,000 mile a year. The call of the road is still strong. I've been a 'biker' all my life it seems.
I had my own black/white darkroom in the mid-1980s. Then I started going to Art School at night and stopped shooting. Quit school after a few years, and just kind of dabbled around with art when the mood struck me.
I love my dogs, but only have Rio now, his half-sister, Luna, passed in 2004. Very sad. Don't want to go through that again. Rio will be my last companion. Remember the call of the open road is still strong, and pets are a big responsibility in that regard. Plus I don't want to go through sadness again, never cried that hard for a human being. Rio passed in 2010.

The Blip has encouraged me to start my own fine art photography business, BikerJim Photography. The generous support of my Blip-Buddies has given me the incentive to try my hand in this field of photography. My confidence in my art has grown by leaps and bounds, although I don't think I will ever feel that my art is any more than just a very personal and private part of my life. But now I do have the desire to share my images with all who are interested in looking at them. It's not about selling or making money, I just want to share the beauty I see in the world around me, with the help of my eyes, my imagination and my camera.
