The Glasshouse Mountains

The Glasshouse Mountains, Queensland, Australia, seen from the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve.

A day of travel today around the Queensland tourist routes of the Glasshouse Mountains and the Blackall Range. Fantastic scenery, saw many reptiles (tree snakes, skinks, lace monitor) but captured nothing good enough to blip. Opted for a landscape instead.

The mountains in this view are the eroded plugs of long extinct volcanoes (25 million years ago) somewhat similar to the rock in Edinburgh upon which Edinburgh castle has been built. These of course are on a much larger scale.
