House Construction 17--Joists Delivered

This is the side of the nearly entirely new house arising in place of our former condominium.

Ceiling joists--15 of them--are being raised to the second floor. They will be placed across the top of its wall (pointing roughly as shown here) to support the third floor. The joists arrived on a long truck with its own crane (mostly hidden here); the crane is controlled remotely by the driver, in the bright green shirt. Additional material on the truck--including a meter-high stack of plywood--would also be lifted up in the next hour.

A shot from the front a few days ago is here, with more of the story. The second-floor walls have not yet been raised in that view.

If you blippers haven't guessed, this whole construction process fascinates me. You can go to the link above to find further links back.
