Or Layer Cake. i'm not normally a cake eating person but every so often I indulge and surprise myself at how much I like it. Germany is a good country for cakes and they don't come in shy slices. This cake comes from here. Cherries, dark chocolate chips and two slices thank you very much.

Out at the City Of Bears again today for more garden/maintenance work. It was quite nice to get out of town - the temperature on the terrace was 35 C today. That's awful hot.

Still we worked the afternoon away and I missed the big bit of excitement. One of the snakes that live in the area made a fleeting appearance and then hid under the garage. I've never seen a snake in the wild. So I'll be hoping to catch that another day. Made up for it a bit when I spotted a toad and some newts (a Gussie Fink-Nottle moment for me there).

I've been here for exactly 5 months today.
