These lovely magenta-colored flowers are beside our driveway. They're very small--about 3/4 of an inch across (2 cm).
I think they are probably phlox, of which there are over five dozen species, and woodland phlox is really just a guess, based on a bit of googling. Don't miss it in large, with several of the lavender buds!
I'm glad not to have to go further afield for a blip; we are scheduled to move to our new house tomorrow afternoon (which we will rent). It's not far at all--for some of the story see here and links from there. It will be a relief to finally move in (the saga has been playing out since April)!
