Our Bluebell Wood

Well not ours to own, just to visit and enjoy.

We park the car on the small country road and follow the path in a large circular route, about 1 mile, maybe a little longer. The wood is part of Ballathie Estate and there are many large, old trees with knarled roots. Deer roam, birds sing their hearts out and at this time of year it is carpeted as far as the eye can see with bluebells and tiny little white flowers with ferns starting to unfurl too. We walked along the path and smelt the heady perfume of bluebells and I thought that there was no better place to be walking on a sunny Saturday in May.

Tonight we are heading out for a meal to the Cafe Tabu, a cute little french place with fantastic food. My stylish friend in Aberdeen, Gillian is meeting us there as she was walking 20 miles for the Pink Ribbon Walk starting off at Scone Palace. She normally wears high heels, but tonight, it may be her slippers she will be wearing!

Here is Breagha, posing for me in amongst the bluebells - she is now lying curled up exhausted with her new toy from Jenny!
