Chilly day

Busy day today: kids to school then straight off to hire a van (our own being dead outside the house) for a trip into Toulouse. The plan had been to go to Ikea and buy the odds and ends of furniture we need, along with a mattress for our bed. We were, however, waylaid by a second hand/junk shop and ended up buying all the odds and ends, and a few other things too, there - and even a second hand washing machine and dishwasher that we thought we'd take a chance on.

I've always thought of Mr B as a man of impeccable taste and judgement, but was delighted to discover today that he has the same dodgy taste for kitsch that I do. So it was that a very large silver effect tray was added to our purchases, and the bust of Elvis was very tempting... I'm saving the delightful hall table for a slow blipday, so no more on that for now.

Then Ikea for lunch and mattress buying (suprisingly easy, considering it took us all day last time we did it) and collecting spare parts for wardrobes that had been lost in the move. Next came a long long long wait in the Orange shop to ask for advice on connectors for the TV decoder, and a trip to the supermarket where the Orange lady recommended we buy the bits we need.

Some bother at the car hire place as the van was showing three quarters full on fuel, even though we'd just filled it up. Sorting out that that was a fault with the guage and not us made us nearly late to pick the kids up, but soon we were all back for dinner and a very relaxing Friday night.

The shot is one of my chilli plants, with a bud at the top of the shot, then a chilli flower with, next to it, a dead flower with a tiny chilli inside. The chillis are being grown for the husband of a blipper, who is visiting in August so I'm hoping they'll be fully grown and firey by the time he gets here.
