Marjorie's ramblings

Doronicum orientale

Wednesday, so it was Haltwhistle walkers day. It's always good to go on the walk and to catch up with everyone else's news. The weather forecast was for warmer weather today and sunshine this afternoon. Instead we had grey, damp weather and a cold wind. Landscape photos were rather flat.

Just before the end of the walk we came across this patch of leopard's bane. It is always so colourful, even on a very grey day. I have desaturated the green, and interestingly the leaves desaturated and the stems remained green. I think it helps to see the flowers without too much competition from the leaves.

The walk was a circular from Wark Village (pronouced W - ark (like in the Bible, not as in walk......... it 's a question of dialect).
