Chicory

I never knew that Chicory had flowers. The main thing I associated with chicory was Camp Coffee. It was a terribly old fashioned thing when I was a kid and I'm not sure that it still exists. If it does I suspect that the awfully colonial (that's a very euphemistic way of putting it) overtones of the original label must have been changed.

EDIT : I've just found out that this chicory coffee was known about here in Germany. It was called Mocca Faux by the French and pronounced in German as Muckefuck. This amuses me no end because I am a simple minded sausage. If you don't believe me, here's a link to the German Wikipedia entry.

Anyway, the flowers are very pretty. I surprise myself by how many of these Blips turn out to be of plants.

In other news - the Fire Brigade turned up in force outside today. One of the people living in the next building apparently had a little problem involving burning rubbish in their living room - like you do. Cue 3 fire engines and a hell of a lot of noise. Still it would appear to have been relatively minor as it was all dealt with in about 10 minutes. No ambulances so I'm very happy that no-one was hurt. Other than that, there's not much to report.
