Polygonum bistorta "Superbum"

In my gardening enclyclopaedia this plant is described as vigorous, and they're not lying! Once you have planted this in your garden it will start forming clumps and trying to take over. So we keep digging up parts of it and planting it in the chicken's enclosure. It looks better there than in the flowerbed. Only problem is I need protection from the cockerel to take a picture. He really dislikes the vibrant colours of my clothing, at least that's what we think cause his attacks on my person. John on the other hand awakes no aggression in him. So unfair, specially as I'm the hand that feeds him and his ladies.
