Quiet Sunday

I was on breakfast duty, so put together a bit of a fry-up using some of the stuff bought last night (sausages included, but not blipped, for some reason I can't explain). That was after the Hollyoaks omnibus and before the Malaysian Grand Prix. Unfortunately, we caught a news item on TV beforehand which meant we knew who won before we watched the race. That wasn't enough info to spoil our enjoyment, though. It wasn't exactly the most exciting race in the history of Formula 1, but Kimi Raikkonen's win was well deserved, we groaned when Felipe Massa messed up and prevented Ferrari from taking what should have been a comfortable one-two, and we groaned even more intensely at the dire bias and distorted ITV commentary. It was good news during the week to hear that BBC are to take over GP coverage from next season, but we're still concerned about the rumours (very strong ones at this stage) that the Top Gear gang are likely to front the coverage. Still, let's wait and see, I guess. At least we only have to put up with ITV for another sixteen races, and we'll have the option of switching to Setanta for the ones which we'll watch live rather than re-broadcast.

After the race we watched (on the TV rather than in Carl's Kino's big screen) what was intended to be The Talented Mr Ripley on Carl's Kino but turned out to be the totally different, and truly excellent Y tu mamá también. I left Carl's around 7.00 pm, dropped in on last Sunday's Grand prix host en route, and got home around 10.00. It had been a good day.

I've back-blipped yesterday.
