Skip's Blips

A grazing groundhog

Groundhogs, also known as woodchucks and whistlepigs, primarily graze on grasses and other green stuff. That's what this fellow was doing when I spotted him this morning. He was a reluctant blip star, but I managed to get a few shots of him before he scuttled out of sight into the taller grass. He is a member of the squirrel family and has teeth that grow constantly, so he has to chew and chew to wear them down. If he doesn't, it can lead to major health issues. You won't see him in the winter. His kind are seriously into hibernation once cold weather arrives. After our recent winter, I'm beginning to think he may have a good idea.

Weather report: sunny and cool...only about 68 degrees this afternoon
